Regaining my physical and mental well-being

I was always surrounded by negative influences right from the morning, be it the newspaper, television, or social media. These had an unfavorable impact on me, especially during the lockdown. My lifestyle saw many undesirable changes, and it was very stressful. Today, I am positively impacted by being engaged with the HW community. I could bring about changes in my lifestyle through the ‘EARN’ philosophy – a guided mentorship program on exercise, attitude, sleep, and nutrition. This, along with my family’s support, has made me a happy soul today.

Overcoming in spite of cerebral palsy

My association with Rangarajan, alias Raju, is a long journey spanning 24 years. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and started his physiotherapy training with me while in his mid-thirties. Raju had a problem with his gait, balance, coordination, and speech. He enjoys his regular physiotherapy and yoga and is able to perform poses like Padmasana, Bhujangasa, and Vajrasanawith ease. We worked with him at the Mitra Rehabilitation Centre for over two decades. He has never skipped a therapy session to date. While he has myopic vision, his power has been stable over the years.

He is not a diabetic, though he has a family history of diabetes. I strongly believe that the regular care by his sister, MythiliPadmanabhan, who is a flag bearer of the Holistic Wellness Club, is making his recovery and good health possible.

Raju is a living example for all of us that whatever our age or health condition, there is always a possibility of great recovery.

Managing my stress levels never seemed so simple

I work for a large Corporate. My work assignments have always been stressful, with strict targets and deadlines to meet.

This work pressure led to a high degree of stress in my life and was
causing severe damage to my health. Even though I tried my best to stay active, my best was not enough.

I was wondering how I could manage my stress better and lead a happy lifestyle.

Today, I am part of the Holistic Wellness Club here, I meet people who guide me well. I am pleasantly surprised to see that my stress levels are manageable. This has happened due to the various changes I have made with respect to my food plating, workouts, and stress management techniques – all with a feeling of belongingness to the community.
